week 7 - interface design in flash

Prototype
Tigervision CO. gets a contract with 7 coorporations to make an Alphabet Learning Software for use by kind in the kindergarten. They request to using the software tools that they provide such as Adobe Photoshop, Flash 8, SwiftMax and Swift3D. The duration that they give is 5 month to finish the project.

Team development

Project Manager
As the project manager, he need to cares about how their group member work on their every part. He also need to make a good relationship to gain some of the understanding environment with their group member to built the best product. Otherwise, project manager need to divide test and guide their team member. He is the main or playmarker of the good product develop.

Quality Manager
The quality need to cares about th e standard of quality product and the work environment for all the group members. Quality manager have a good participation and honesty when they interact to all their group members. Because of that, their group members can gain the trustworthy for their work and their performance and spirit to do their work is good.

Design Department
For designer, they always make a good creativation for doing the product design interface. It always comes out with the new style and invention for their product which can attract more users to used it. Otherwise, design department always take a work seriously and creatively. So this mean the quality of the designing is good.

Programmer Department
Programmer also perform a good performance in their tast. They also have a good relationship with the client and work seriously. How they solve their problem is amazing based on their good interaction with the group member. 

Tester
All the tester need is to make sure all the product built in a good condition. They need a good patiently for doing their task to avoid a little bits mistake. So , they need hundred percent concentrate and confidental to do their task.

Analyst
Analyst need the good interaction with users to do the survey and questionaire. It need to develop their good performance for doing this task.Futhermore, analysis the product must do it seriously to make a trustworhty of the user requirement.


Below is the models we use to diagnose the team performance for all their work which can help team members understand their team development. Futhermore, this model also enable them to learn how to work better together and develop a supportive.



Week 6 (2 February – 6 February)

Economy crisis
Our company faces economy crisis and having financial problem. The solution that takes by our company to solve the problem is by reducing the staff. This solution seen working and make sure the budget not overrun and customer requirement can be full –filled for the project.

Stages in Software Project Management
Meeting was held. A discussion was held among the team leader and members. The discussion was about stages in software project management to be implemented during the development of project.

1. Initiation
Focus on determination scope and nature of project.
Content of cohesive plan:
· Study analyzing the business needs in measurable goals.
· Review of the current operations.
· Conceptual design of product.
· Budget.
· Stakeholder analysis, including users, and support personnel for the project.
· Project charter including costs, tasks, deliverables, and schedule.

2. Planning and design
The results of the design stage should include a product designs that:
· Prototype.
· Satisfies the project sponsor, end user, and business requirements.
· Functions as it was intended.
· Within quality standards.
· Within time and budget constraints.

3. Executing
Executing consists of the processes used to complete the work defined in the project management plan.

4. Monitoring and controlling
Monitoring and Controlling consists of those processes performed to observe project execution. Monitoring and Controlling includes:
· Measuring the ongoing project activities.
· Monitoring the project variables (cost, effort, etc) against the project management - plan and the project performance.
· Identify corrective actions to properly address issues and risks.

5. Closing
Close project and Contract closure.

MANAGEMENT PLAN

A project management plan is a formal, approved document that defines how the project is executed, monitored and controlled. It may be summary or detailed and may be composed of one or more subsidiary management plans and other planning documents. The objective of a project management plan is to define the approach to be used by the Project team to deliver the intended project management scope of the project.

The Tigervision CO. needs to create the project management plan following input from the project team and our stakeholders, creative 7 coorporations. The plan should be agreed and approved by at least the project team and its key stakeholders. Tigervision CO. needs to build the Alphabet Learning Software for creative 7 coorporations that has been agreed before.

Scope
The scope for this management plan is following the scope of user requirement. The scope for developing the Alphabet Learning Software for creative 7 coorporation is:
• Budget cost = RM10 000.00
• User Scope = 3-6 years old children's
= elementary school/kindergarten
• Specifications
• A to Z complete alphabet
• Mathematics learning (add, delete, multiple, division)
• Shape learning
• With sound of the alphabet pronounced
• With musical background ( can mute the music)
• With images ( 3 category of image)
– i - animal
– ii - vegetable
– iii – Things

Quality
For the quality of the development, we will build the best Alphabet Learning Software for our client. We have an expert and professional member in Tigervision CO. that can give their best commitment in this project. We believe that, the project for build Alphabet Learning Software can achieve the objective and also fulfill the user requirement. This project can be the best learning software for the kindergarten in the aspect of quality graphic, text, sound and others.

Risk
There are steps to manage the risk that maybe faces in development of project:
a) Establish the context
b) Identify the risks
c) Analyze the risks
d) Evaluate the risks
e) Treat the risks

Some of the risks that maybe involved:
a) Schedule Slips: When the delivery date comes, we have to tell the customer that
the software isn't ready as yet and that it may take some more time.

b) Project Canceled: The customer decides that it would be better to cancel the
project
* After numerous schedule slips, he loses confidence that the project can ever be
completed.
* The Business process changes, which leaves the software incapable of solving the
new business problems.

c) False Feature Rich: The system has great features. Unfortunately these are not the
features that the customer finds useful, rather these are the features that the
programmer thinks are great features (usually something challenging to accomplish but
without any great business value).

d) Staff Turnover: A few months after the system has gone into production, all the
original programmers have left for other more interesting projects, or (worse still) left for other more interesting companies to work for.

Human Resources
Tigervision CO. is a Web Based and Multimedia software company. We develop high quality software with the help of modern day technology which is update to the current technology. We has expert team member in the company. Mr. Haziri is a project manager in Tigervision co. He experts in conduct the project to make the project fulfill the customer needed. For the quality manager, we have Emma Sofia who is active person to check the quality of development. In the programmers department, mr. khalis and mr. zulfahmi are expert person in the programming language. They have a very good programming skill to develop any software project. In design department also have an expert and professional designer like mr. irman argoes and mr. karbans. We also has professional team member in tester and analyst, ku boon yen and mohd amin.

Schedule

Week 5 (24 January until 1 February)

No meeting was held during week 5 (24 January until 1 February) due to the 1 week holiday for the Chinese New Year celebration. Progress of the development still continue as we had assigned tasks equally to each member before the holiday. All the team members were required to search for related and useful information in the development process.

Weekly report

This week, Tiger Vision co. had made a second meeting with the Creative 7 Cooperation to made arrangement and agreement in the Alphabet Learning software contract and to get more information about the requirements. Becase of the project are using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method further meeting will be made with the client to help with the verification of the requirement during the development phase.

Our project team also has our own meeting only among the project team. The team started the analysis phase where each group member had been given a task and topic to research and analyze what risks may involved during or after the development of the system. This is to prepare the team for the worst as well as assuring the quality of the developed system.

Justification for the proposal

The proposal from CREATIVE 7 CORPORATION has fulfilled most of the requirements but there’re still a little bit of adjustment that needs to be improve.

Justification for proposal

2.1 The methodology proposed by the Creative 7 Cooperation by using RAD has drew our attention because by using RAD methodology, the duration to built the system is shorter than the proposed from TrendStyle.Sdn Bhd due to the company's designer needs to use the system as soon as possible.
2.2 The tools that will be use by the Creative 7 Cooperation are impressive because most of its are latest version which will avoid the technical problem in the process to develop the system.
2.3 The budget proposed by the Creative 7 Cooperation is a lot cheaper than was offered by our company.
2.4 The duration to built the system proposed by the Creative 7 Cooperation is 2 months which is faster than we are expected which is 6 months.

Details Explanation of Fashion Design System
System should have two main modules which is the design module for designing the fesyen and the preview module which will show the design on a 3d model. The design module should have all the capability for graphic design focusing on fesyen design. It also should have a template which then can be customized by the designer according to his/her own design. After the designer finish designing, they can just click the preview in 3d mode and the system should automatically transform the design to a 3d model which user can have full control of the view angle, zooming capability and changes of model characteristic such as skin, hair, body type and etc. The model should consist of all ages and sex. From the 3d view, designer should able to switch back into design interface to redesign or change the design. The interfaces should be easy to use and have an auto save capability such in Microsoft Office. The software should able to save in jpeg, 3dmodel, and flash presentation for presentation purposes. Designer also can choose type of fabric while in the 3d view. The whole system is drag and drop system. As we will be using this on PC and MAC, we request a multiplatform application.
